Also, when software updates and the version number changes, will the Software Metering rule continue to work. Adobe is a good example. We have Acrobat installed, but with each update, it gets an entirely new software package added to our repository based on the new version number. Ideally I'd like to be able to maintain the licenses across version upgrades when applicable - is this workable?

Hope this clarifies.I'm working to set up a software license repository to work with our software metering through Desktop Central. I can create software metering rules based on the already-established software packages, but is there a way to group existing packages together.For example, I purchase licensing for MS Office 2016 Standard that includes licenses for several different executables (i.e. winword.exe). I need to track these as a license bundle that audits against the individual program components - how can I do that?
--> I can get your requirement. But as of now, grouping the software is not available under software metering. However let me forward this to my engineering team for future enhancement.
