Hello Mike,
@Stefan: Thank you for sharing the troubleshooting tips to Mike.
Usually, reason for fatal error due to MSI package cannot be installed on the target machine or some other dependency files or software not found. This issue needs to be analyzed by installing the Software Manually or you can enable the Logging for Troubleshooting option. You will find this option at the time of adding the msi package or modify the added package to enable it so that you will get the logging for Fatal error inside the Desktop Central logs folder.
Second issue, false positive should be because of Application designed specifically to install for Users or Computer. If you get the False Positive status with Computer configuration then make sure you try with User configuration.
Finally, to troubleshoot this deployment issue, enable the logging and try deploying it to Users and Computers then contact the Desktop Central support with Agent logs from the deployment failed machine. This will help us to work on this case towards the resolution.
Accept my apologies for any inconvenience caused.
Looking forward to assist you,
-----
