Re : How to tell Setup to prompt for a reboot?

Hi Stefan,

Thanks for your Patience,

I understand your requirement of rebooting the target machines after installing an application irrespective of reboot required or not.

The "Exit Code" is more of referring the success or failure of the deployment and may not apply the reboot process.

However there are couple of options to achieve your requirement, as follows:

Option 1:

While Adding a Software Package, you may use "Post-Deployment Activities" and use "Custom Script" to achieve your requirement of rebooting the machines after application installed successfully.

Post-Deployment Activities after Installation

Script / Command Name

Specify the commands or scripts that has to be executed after installing the software. Refer to  Executing Scripts in Software installation  for more details.

Arguments

Specify the arguments for the post-installation script, if any.

Successful if the Exit Code is

Select this option and specify the exit code to verify whether post installation has been successful. If post-installation is not successful, the software will not be uninstalled.



Option 2:

Schedule a Force Reboot from "Tools -->Schedule Shutdown -->Restart" to reboot a machine on a specific date and time. Please click HERE to know  more about "Remote Shutdown".
