Hello Mike,

The deployment status is the translation of exit code return by the exe that you are trying to run on a remote machine. If you want the see the translation for exit codes then open a command prompt and issue the below command.

net helpmsg 0 - The operation completed successfully.
2 - Access is denied.
1603 - Fatal error during installation.

The False Positive should be due to executable returning the exit code 0 at the time of closing from task manager. Agent just look for the exit codes and update deployment status. 

As per the stefan note, you will need to try the deployment on a clean machine to debug the deployment errors and also use the command prompt to test the deployment.
