Re : How to disable "New software is Available" notification?

Hello,

Greetings.

Allow user to interact with the Installation window will launch the Install Now pop up in the end user desktop. As of now, there is no option to suppress it. I've requested team to add this requirement in the product road map.

Desktop Central Remote Office Syncronization kills WAN

I see in scope of management I can reduce the default synchronization speed for each individual remote site.  That's nice.  but why does it try to sync all at the same time to all the remote sites.  it kills my WAN, there has got to be a way to fix this  m isn't there ?

Thanks for your post.

As of now, this is the default work flow of replication process. This has already been raised to our development team and we're working on it.
However please modify the replication interval as per the need.

Error in PowerShell Deployment Script

Hi

In Software Deployment \ Templates there is a deployment for Microsoft PowerShell for Windows 7 SP1 (x86).

The VB script to deploy has a couple of typo's that cause the target to reboot immediately after installation.
There are two lines that have "/NORESTAR" . The letter T needs adding to the end for it to work as expected.

As a side question, is it possible to detect what PS version is installed?
Computer\Software Inventory doesn't list it.

Thank you for bringing the typo info to our notice. We will fix it soon.

Regarding detecting PS version, it cannot be done as we don't scan or do any File/folder monitoring/network level detection scan.

Hi,

We are on build 92041 - skipped past 92038 so no experience of that version I'm afraid, no no sign of that issue for us.

Our Office 2013 installer which is over 1GB copies the files AND installs to a PC to a remote office in under 30 mins total.

Thank you for your reply. 

This case has been analyzed and found that it occurred due to the agent communication to the server. However, I tried to reproduce the issue in the test lab and unable to reproduce it. So it's not a common issue and suspect that it's an environmental issue or specific to the setup.

Deploy extensions/add-ons in Firefox

Does anyone know if there is a way with desktop Central that we can deploy firefox extensions?  If not through Desktop Central, another way?

Appreciate your forum Post.

The requested feature for deploying the Firefox Extension using Desktop Central is not available. If you have any script to deploy this, then you can use Desktop Central to deploy that script for invoking the extension.

I will take this as s feature request and forward to the team to add in on our product road-map list.

Set default programs for all users using desktop central?

Is there a post installation script that sets a certain app as a system wide default after its been installed?

As of now, there is no post installation script available to set the App as a system wide default in Desktop Central.

Execution Status

I can send a "execution status error" from scripts. ??

although deploy is correct if the script does not give me the result I want to be shown wrong "execution status".

The status will be shown based on the Exit code set on the script and also the exit code set under Custom script.

Removal of VNC Servers and Viewers

Hello,

We have several different versions of VNC Server and VNC Viewer that we need to have removed from all computers in our environment.
I know for sure there are both TightVNC and UltraVNC servers that make up the majority of our environment.

Is there any surefire way to remove the servers silently using desktop central? All silent switches plus built-in uninstallations fail or hang.

All of this has got to go. Primarily 2.0.4 of TightVNC since that has the most installed in our environment.

Software Templates missing

The Software Templates options in the Software Deployment Tab is missing. Only the "Packages" option is available. Can someone please assist?
